Cheesy Ham And Spinach Quiche Recipe

We eat this quiche for breakfast, brunch, and honestly even dinner every once in a while. It’s too easy and great for those nights when you dread the idea of cooking. Everyone needs to go to different events and you are simply drained. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about!

Whenever we have house guests it’s also great for feeding a hungry group. This easy quiche recipe will feed 6 people, so you may make multiple if you need more. I will warn you that it will please a crowd quickly so don’t be surprised if it disappears quickly.

The secret to this ham and cheese quiche is the already made pie crust. You can always make your own or opt to use a gluten-free pie crust. Making those subtle adjustments will make it feel like it fits your family and needs. Plus, I just love to adjust recipes because you can do so many different things to them. This quiche is no different and I think you will be excited to try it a bunch of different ways.

Ham and Cheese Quiche Ingredients

  • Pillsbury Pie Crust – Using a pre-made pie crust will save you lots of time versus making it homemade. I love the flavor of homemade pie crust, but my schedule doesn’t always allow me to do that.
  • Eggs – You will need 7 eggs per quiche.
  • Heavy Cream – Using heavy cream gives the quiche that delightful creaminess that I crave.
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese – I feel like you can never have too much cheese!
  • Cooked Ham – Whether you buy deli ham and chop it up or you have leftover ham, it goes beautifully in this deep dish.
  • Fresh Baby Spinach – Fresh spinach doesn’t just add flavor and nutrients, but it’s also gorgeous too.
  • Salt and Pepper – Just add what you like!

How To Make A Quiche

Making a quiche is so simple and you can be eating it in a little more than 45 minutes. Let’s get started:

First Step: Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Second Step: Roll out the thawed pie crust and place it over an 8-inch, greased pie pan. Press down the crust and prep the edges as you would a normal pie. You can also use an already prepped crust as long as it’s thawed.

Third Step: Place all ingredients in a bowl except the ham, spinach, and mozzarella, and mix. Don’t over mix, you want the eggs to just barely be whipped. If you do over mix the eggs it will be much more of a custard type quiche and that’s not what we are aiming for.

Fourth Step: Place half of the ham, spinach, and cheese in the bottom of the bare crust, pour the egg mixture over the top. If you are adding any extra ingredients put them on the bottom too.

Fifth Step: Sprinkle the rest of the ham, spinach, and cheese over the top of the crust, ending with the cheese.

Easy Spinach Quiche Variations

I love this recipe exactly the way it’s written, but sometimes I love to try out some other ingredients too. Here are a few of the top ideas that always make me drool:

  • Monterey Jack – Replace the mozzarella with Monterey Jack for a little different spin on flavors.
  • Green Onion – Chop up some diced green onion and sprinkle it on top. So good!
  • Bacon – Crumble some cooked bacon and mix it into the filling. Everything is better with bacon. 🙂
  • Crustless Quiche – Skip the crust altogether and just turn this into a crustless quiche. A great option if you are low carb or gluten-free.
  • Swiss Cheese – I love swiss cheese and it pairs beautifully with the ham and eggs.
  • Mini Quiche – Turn this into a mini quiche instead of a full-sized quiche. Simply use 6 ramekins or mini pie pans and divide the crust and ingredients evenly. The baking time will be more like 10-15 minutes.
  • Sausage – Crumble some browned sausage and add to the quiche. I love the added flavor and protein.
  • Mushrooms – I am a huge mushroom fan and love tossing in a few to add some earthiness to the quiche.
  • Garlic – If you are a garlic addict, add in 1-2 teaspoons of minced garlic! It gives it lots of amazing flavors.
  • Peppers – I love red peppers, but any color would work great. Peppers and eggs are some of my favorite combinations.

How Long Does The Ham And Spinach Quiche Last?

This ham and spinach quiche will last around 3-4 days in the refrigerator. First, let the cheesy quiche cool all the way down then wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. If possible, give it some double protection by putting it in an airtight container too.

I will do a lot of meal planning and when I do, adding the ham and spinach quiche is a must! I love eating a high protein breakfast because it keeps me full for a lot longer than cereal. Meal prepping saves me tons of time in the morning when everyone is running behind.

How Do You Reheat Ham And Spinach Quiche?

For the best results, you can quickly reheat the quiche in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. You don’t want to heat it for too long so it doesn’t lose moisture and become dry.

Another great option is to warm it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or until it’s hot. I find that I have the best luck when I cover it with a damp paper towel. It just keeps it moist and it warms up evenly.
