I’ve always been a fan of going out to eat at an Italian Restaurant. Creamy sauces, pasta, and breadsticks are a dream come true. The unfortunate thing for us is we live hours away from the nearest Italian restaurant, so I knew I wanted to start making my own dishes at home.

Not only is this Tuscan chicken pasta delicious, but I can also feel good about feeding it to my family. I know exactly what goes into it and all the ingredients are simple and easy to use.

How To Make Creamy Tuscan Chicken

Making this Tuscan chicken skillet may sound scary, but I promise it couldn’t be easier. You can start cooking and have it on your plates and ready to serve in less than 30 minutes! Perfect for hectic nights when cooking doesn’t sound all that fun.

  1. Begin by cooking the fettucini noodles in water. Use the directions on the packaging.
  2. Cut up bacon into small pieces and cook in a skillet using medium-high heat. While the bacon is cooking, dice up chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  3. After the bacon is cooked to your preference, add in the diced chicken breast to the skillet. Stir frequently, so the chicken doesn’t burn. Once the chicken is done all the way through add in the garlic—Cook for 1 minute longer.
  4. Pour in the sun-dried tomatoes and oil. (you can remove oil if you don’t like it, but it adds to the flavor.) Stir.
  5. Mix in the spinach leaves, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Once the spinach has wilted, add in the fettuccine noodles, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese.

Helpful Suggestions For Creamy Garlic Chicken Pasta

There are a few things I want to point out for this chicken recipe. It’s a very simple and uncomplicated dish, but there are a couple of tips that I think you will find helpful.

  • Use Fresh Spinach – You may be tempted to use frozen spinach, but I find that frozen waters it down too much. Using fresh gives the creamy Italian chicken the perfect texture.
  • Shred Your Own Cheese – For the best luck, buy a block of cheese and shred it yourself. You’ll be amazed at how well it tastes and how much creamier it ends up being when you shred it.
  • Don’t Overcook The Chicken – Cooking the chicken too long will cause it to dry out. It’s best to cook it until it reaches 160 degrees, then add the other ingredients. Then it should reach 165 degrees by the time it’s ready to serve.

How Do You Store Tuscan Chicken?

It’s best to let the creamy tuscan garlic chicken cool down before storing. Then place it in a container with a tight fitting lid. It will last 3-5 days int he fridge. It makes lovely leftovers. We will make this for meal planning often because it warms up well.

Place it on a microwave-safe plate and warm it for 1 minute. The pasta heats up pretty quickly. Stir and devour!

  • Basil to taste

Instructions

Stir frequently, so the chicken doesn't burn. Once the chicken is done all the way through add in the garlic—Cook for 1 minute longer.
  4. Pour in the sun-dried tomatoes and oil. (you can remove oil if you don't like it, but it adds to the flavor.) Stir.
  5. Mix in the spinach leaves, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Once the spinach has wilted, add in the fettuccine noodles, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese. Serve the Tuscan chicken while it's hot. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don't want the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes, you can drain it. I love the additional flavor it gives.
  • Use mozzarella from a block and shred it yourself. It cooks up creamier and better than pre-packed shredded cheese.
