Before I give you all the details on how to make your own washi tape craft, I want to take some time to answer a few questions. If you don’t find the answer to your question, never hesitate to reach out to me. I would love to help!

What Is Washi Tape?

Washi tape is a decorative tape that is often used for crafting and scrapbooking. It can be used to decorate pencils, photo frames or anything else you would like to decorate. It comes in a fantastic variety of colors and designs. Find some of my favorite washi tape designs here. You can stick the tape to metal, wood, plastic or glass. The best part is that it doesn’t harm surfaces when you remove it either.

Why Do They Call It Washi Tape?

Washi tape originates from Japan, and it is used as masking tape. The tape in Japan is made from rice paper, and it is much stronger than your typical masking tape.

Can You Modge Podge Washi Tape?

Yes, if you are working on a project with Washi tape, you can use Modge Podge to make it stick better. For this Easter Craft Idea, you won’t be needing Modge Podge because it will adhere to the cardstock easy enough. However, if you are sticking the washi tape to glass, plastic or metal, you might want to put a few thin coats over the final project.

When the paper is covered with washi tape, place the bunny frame on top and secure with glue. Notice you don’t have to cover the entire sheet of paper, just the part that is going to be visible behind the bunny cutout.
