🥓 Turkey and Cheese Sliders Ingredients

  • Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • Sliced Deli Turkey or Leftover Turkey Meat
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Colby Jack Cheese
  • Bacon
  • Melted Butter
  • Spicy Mustard
  • Poppy Seeds
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper

🍴 Directions

The incredible flavor of these turkey and cheese sliders isn’t because you spent all day cooking them! They are EASY!

  1. Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a 9 x 13 baking pan.
  2. Slice open the Hawaiian rolls with a serrated knife. If possible, try to keep the rolls attached to each other. Put the bottoms of the Hawaiian rolls on the bottom of the pan.
  3. Add a layer of turkey, bacon, swiss cheese, another layer of turkey, and a layer of Colby Jack cheese. Add the tops back onto the rolls.
  4. Melt butter in the microwave. Then add in the spicy mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and poppy seeds. Whisk until combined. Use a basting brush to brush the mixture on top of the rolls.
  5. Let the rolls sit for 5-10 minutes to allow the buttery goodness to seep down into them.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 5 minutes to brown up the tops.
  7. Cut sliders with a sharp knife and enjoy!

🥣 Turkey Slider Hawaiian Rolls Storage

Leftover cheesy turkey sliders can be kept in the refrigerator in a sealed container. They make lovely leftovers and are great for meal prepping.

They will last up to 3 days in the fridge.

Warm the sliders in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or until hot. Enjoy them for a simple lunch or dinner idea!

🥬 Turkey Cheese Sliders Variations

As with most of my recipes, there are several adjustments you can make to give them some variety. Here are a few ideas to adjust this turkey sliders recipe.

  • Dried Minced Onion: If you love dried minced onion, go ahead and add some to the butter mixture. It’s very flavorful and goes well with the turkey and cheese sliders.
  • Leftover Turkey: After the holidays, if you have leftover Thanksgiving turkey, go ahead and add it to the sandwiches instead of deli meat! SO GOOD!
  • Ham: Swap out the turkey for some ham if you’d rather. They are a great game day snack idea.
  • Dijon Mustard: Go ahead and consider trading the spicy mustard for dijon. Both are pretty tasty if you ask me.
  • Cheese: Use any kind of cheese that you enjoy! Pepper Jack is fun because it adds a little spice to the turkey sliders. I am a fan of all things cheese-related, so I don’t think you can go wrong.

🙋 Turkey Sliders FAQs

Can I Add Vegetables To The Sliders?

I find that adding veggies is super delicious. I recommend baking them as directed, then breaking the sandwich open and adding your favorite vegetables. My favorites are:

  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes (okay, I get that it’s technically a fruit, but who is judging!)
  • Onion Slices
  • Sauteed Mushrooms
  • Avocado Slices

What goes well with turkey sliders?

  1. Sweet potato fries: These fries are a perfect complement to turkey sliders and add a sweet and savory flavor to the meal.
  2. Coleslaw: A tangy coleslaw made with shredded cabbage, carrots, and a creamy dressing can add a refreshing crunch to your sliders.
  3. Pickles: A couple of pickles on the side can provide a tangy and sour flavor that complements the mild taste of turkey.
  4. Salad: A fresh salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, and a light vinaigrette can provide a refreshing and healthy side dish.
  5. Chips: A bag of potato chips can be a quick and easy side that pairs well with the flavor of the turkey.
  6. Cranberry sauce: If you want to stick with a traditional Thanksgiving theme, serving turkey sliders with a side of cranberry sauce can be a delicious option.
  7. Roasted vegetables: Roasted carrots, parsnips, and butternut squash can add a touch of sweetness and earthy flavor to your sliders.

What Sauce Goes Well On Sandwiches?

With the melted butter concoction that is drizzled on top, the King’s Hawaiian sliders are pretty flavorful. If you want to add some additional sauce, that’s more than fine. Try some of these ideas:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Spicy Mayo
  • Mustard
  • Cranberry Sauce
