How To Make Cheesy Sausage Egg Muffins
Step 1: Cook sausage
Turn on the Blackstone Griddle to medium-high heat. Add a layer of butter to grease the griddle. Form the sausage into loose balls, and add to the hot griddle. Cook for 1-2 minutes, then press down hard with a spatula. This will smash the meat so it cooks fast and evenly.

Step 2: Cook the eggs
Add lots of butter to the griddle again and let it melt. Add one whole egg at a time and cook until it starts to set up. Flip the egg over to finish cooking to desired doneness.
NOTE: I fried eggs without egg rings, but you can certainly use them if desired.

Step 3: Toast muffins
Add melted butter to the English muffins and toast on the flattop. You can toast them as long as you’d like, then flip and toast the other side.

Step 4: Assemble sausage egg and cheese muffin
Place one cooked sausage patty on the toasted English muffin, add an egg and top with a slice of cheese. Add the top of the English muffin and enjoy!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to use sausage?
While we prefer to use cooked breakfast sausage, you could swap it for other meats. Crispy strips of bacon would be really tasty! Another yummy option would be Canadian bacon or ham slices. Turkey sausage, or Turkey bacon are also great options. Or you would go wild and make it vegetarian instead. For a vegetarian, I recommend adding sliced red peppers, red onions, and tomato slices for a delicious breakfast option!
Can I use different cheese?
Any cheese you want will work. American cheese, white cheddar cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, Swiss cheese or Colby Jack are popular options. You could even add cream cheese to the toasted muffin for a perfect way to add a unique twist.

Do I have to cook sausage egg and cheese muffin on Blackstone Griddle?
Nope! You can cook everything in a cast iron or non stick frying pan or skillet. I prefer outdoor cooking year round, but will also cook indoors as well, This sausage egg cheese muffin recipe is tasty no matter how you cook it.
How do I meal prep cheesy sausage egg muffins?
Follow the cheese breakfast sandwich recipe precisely. Allow them time to cool down all the way. Once cooled, wrap each sandwich in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Place in a freezer bag and they will last up to 3 months.
To reheat, place on a microwave safe plate and remove from packaging. Add a damp paper towel and heat for 1-2 minutes or until hot in the microwave. You can also heat them in the air fryer at 375 for 5-6 minutes or until hot.
