FAQs

How do you keep guacamole from turning brown?

Adding lemon or lime juice will help prevent the guac from turning brown. Another option is to add a very very thin layer of sour cream on top. Make sure to cover all of the guac. Then when you are ready to serve either mix the sour cream in and give it a good stir, or carefully remove the layer.

Does tomato belong in guacamole?

This is a preference thing and while I love adding tomatoes, you can certainly omit them completely. The choice is yours. The purpose of the tomatoes is to add a little bit of acid and flavor.

Can you freeze homemade guacamole?

Yep! Store it in an airtight bag or container and it will last for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.
