How To Make Baked Cheese Ravioli Casserole
Step 1: Prepare the meat sauce
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown the ground beef drain grease. Add minced garlic, pasta sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine well.
Step 2: Form lazy lasagna layers
Coat the baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Add meat sauce to the bottom of a baking dish. Add a single layer of cheese ravioli. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese and parmesan on top of the ravioli. Place another layer of ravioli followed by more meat sauce and cheese. Repeat as many times as you need until you use up all of the ingredients.
Step 3: Bake
Place the frozen baked ravioli in the oven and cook for 45 minutes, covered with aluminum foil. After 45 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and broil for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown. Serve and enjoy!
Variations
- Italian Sausage – Swap the ground beef for some Italian sausage for a zesty flavor.
- Ground Turkey – Lighten it up by using some ground turkey (or even ground chicken) instead of beef.
- Cheese – Play around with the cheese you use. I like mozzarella and parmesan, but anything you like will work.
- Beef ravioli – Instead of cheese ravioli, go ahead and use beef stuffed ravioli instead. YUM!
- Heavy cream – To add a more creamy flavor to the pasta sauce, place the sauce in the skillet with the ground beef and add 1/2 cup of heavy cream. Stir well and add to the ravioli.
- Veggies – Add bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and black olives are all pretty tasty.
- Fresh spinach – Warm the meat mixture in a skillet and add in spinach. Stir until the spinach has softened.
